Want to learn the secrets of a thriving garden and gainpractical skills? Join us for our Public Garden Workdays! These eventsare a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in gardening, from completebeginners to seasoned green thumbs, to dive in and get hands-on experience.


What to Expect

Our garden workdays are designed to be interactive andeducational. You'll work alongside Extension Master Gardeners, learning bestgardening practices directly from those who know them best. This isn't justabout theory; you'll be actively participating in various garden tasks, puttingthose practices into action.


What You'll Learn and Do

Depending on the season and the needs of the garden, youmight find yourself:

  • Preparing garden beds: Discover how to amend soil for optimal growth.
  • Planting and transplanting: Learn the proper techniques for giving plants the best start.
  • Weeding and mulching: Understand effective strategies for weed control and moisture retention.
  • Pruning and trellising: Master the art of shaping plants for health and productivity.
