Vegetable Gardening 101

— Written By

Want to grow vegetables at home, but don’t know where to start? Join Extension Agent Matt Jones and the Extension Master Gardener Volunteers of Harnett County for a free workshop on the basics of vegetable gardening. Learn about the different kinds of vegetable gardens (including raised beds and containers), soil and nutrient management, when and how to plant different crops, and common pests and diseases. We’ll also discuss the history and role of Victory Gardens during the World Wars to celebrate their 100th and 75th anniversaries, respectively.
